ZEBRA CROSSING CONCERN

Parents and teachers at a Bradford school are celebrating after being given the go-ahead for a zebra crossing.

Last night Bradford Council approved plans to errect the crossing outside St. Anthony's school on the Bradford Road, Clayton.

The entrance to the school is positioned on a part of the Bradford Road where pedestrians are blind to traffic coming down the hill.

There have been a number of accidents in recent times, with school children being knocked over by passing cars.

The £55,000 safety scheme should be in place by next Easter.
