Bradford's RSPCA centre is appealing for people to adopt a kitten as they are stretched to find homes for the unprecedented influx of new arrivals.
With almost 150 cats and kittens in need of re homing, the centre are blaming the economic crisis for the large number of stray and abandoned cats.
This is the highest-ever number of felines the Bradford centre have had to deal with, and have found their resources stretched to the limit.
The RSPCA are blaming hard times for people being less willing to take on a new pet.
