More than 1.2 million motorists have got into their cars and driven after having taken drugs, according to an insurance company survey released today .The Direct Line study claims 35% have driven after having smoked marijuana, 15% after having taken cocaine and 11% after popped a pill of ecstasy.
Police warn that driving whilst under the influence of drugs can be as dangerous - or worse - than driving whilst drunk, and they will seek to prosecute anyone caught at the wheel whilst under the influence.
